How to Start RuneScape: Dragonwilds on GlassHosting: Owner ID, World Name, and Version Match

GlassHosting runs RuneScape: Dragonwilds dedicated servers. Always-on hosting with game panel control. Glass Gaming powered by GlassHosting.

The dedicated server app is free via SteamCMD. After you order, you paste your in-game Player ID into Owner ID, then restart. Max 6 players. Your game client and the server must be on the same version.

1. Order and open the game panel

After checkout, open your Dragonwilds server in the GlassHosting game panel. Note the allocated IP and game port (UDP). The first install downloads the free dedicated app automatically.

2. Get your Player ID (Owner ID)

In RuneScape: Dragonwilds on your own PC:

  • Open Settings.
  • Find your Player ID near the bottom left of the Settings menu.
  • Use the copy button if shown. It is a 32-character hex value, not a Steam ID.

In the GlassHosting panel, open Startup / configuration variables and paste that value into Owner ID. Leave it empty only while you are still looking it up. Without Owner ID the process may listen on the game port but does not create a world and is not ready for players.

3. Set world name and optional password

  • Set Default World Name to the exact name friends will search for. Search in-game is by exact world name (case sensitive), not by server name.
  • Optionally set a World Password so only your group can join.
  • Optionally set an Admin Password for the in-game Server Management screen. Leave it blank if you want the game to generate one.
  • Max players defaults to 6 (the game hard cap).

4. Start or restart

Click Start (or Restart after pasting Owner ID). Wait until the console shows a successful session start. If Owner ID was empty, expect idle listen with no world. Paste Owner ID, restart, and confirm the world loads.

5. Friends join by world name

Players search for your world by the exact Default World Name you set. They do not join by server name alone. Share the world name (and world password if you set one).

6. Client and server version must match

If players cannot find your world after a game update, restart the server so it updates, then ask players to fully close and reopen their client so it updates too. Mismatched client and server versions can hide the world from the browser.

7. Ports checklist

Allow UDP on the assigned game port shown in the panel. That is the primary path for Dragonwilds dedicated play.
