Different loaders
Forge and Fabric are separate ecosystems. Modpacks pin loaders, Minecraft versions, and dozens of mods together. Prefer the pack author's upgrade path.
Do not mix
- Paper plugins are not Forge mods
- Fabric mods are not drop-in Forge jars
- Client and server loaders must match
Hosting tips
Modpacks need more RAM than light Paper SMPs. Backup before force-updating single jars. Watch panel graphs on first full-group play.
